He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Bubenko and Mary Bubenko (Geiger). He is survived by: his wife Barbara (Heller); his children, Matthew (Dawn), Stephanie (Thomas Negrey), Rebecca (Daniel Meeder) and Joseph (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Tiffany, Madison, Ashley, Nathan and Kora; his great grandchildren, Brantley and Bryson; and his aunts, Peggy Bubenko and Anna Mae Polasko.
He was treasurer of the Eureka Coal Heritage Foundation and was one of the co-founders.
