He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Rigel and Anna Marie Rigel (Bailey); his granddaughter Stephanie Sendek; and his stepbrother Larry Bailey. He is survived by: his wife Judith Rigel (Strayer); his stepdaughters, Larri Hampton, Ethel Sheppard (Terry), Susie Shaffer (Greg) and Geistown; his siblings, Judy Black of Johnstown, Mary Jane Goldberg of Johnstown, John Rigel of Johnstown, Diane Rigel of Johnstown and Sam Rigel of Johnstown; and his daughters, Amy Keiper, Donna Adolph and Denise Morales. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
