She was predeceased by: her former husband David; her daughter Nancy Grush; and her siblings, LaVerne Stevens and John Volk. She is survived by: her daughter Pamela (David Koontz); her grandchildren, Ranee Grush, Eric Koontz and Jennifer; her husband Gerald Helmick; her great grandchildren, Andrew, Gianna Koontz, Garrett and Wyatt Helmick; and her son-in-law David Grush.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 514 Shady Lane, Windber, PA 15963 in memory of Gertrude.
