She was predeceased by: her son Joseph; and her parents, William Byrd and Ocie Byrd. She is survived by: her children, George F. "Sonny" Cheripka Jr. (Chris), Richard "Dick" Cheripka, Theresa Lugar (Larry), Helen "Lena" Eggleston (Frank) and Vincent Cheripka (Lisa); and her sister Irene Scott. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
