He is survived by: his wife Catherine G. Messina; his sons, Alfred M. Messina (Sandra), Edward D. Messina (Kathryn) and James A. Messina (Christina); his brother Joseph Messina; and his nephew Jeffrey Messina (Dawn). He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, nieces and a nephew.
