She was predeceased by: her parents, Gordon Schell and Alice Irving Schell; her husband Edward; and her sister Constance Garber. She is survived by: her son Dennis McSurdy; her granddaughters, Amanda Hickman and Jessica Caldwell; and her brother James Schell.

In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 141 East Street, Williamstown, PA 17098.
