He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles A. Persing and Hazel M. Persing (Ross); his brother-in-law Dave Miller; his brother Byron; and his sister-in-law Diane Persing.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pattie" Persing (Shenk); his children, Karin Andy (Kevin) of Lewisburg, Terry Persing of Williamsport, Jacob Young (Lisa) of Charlotte, NC and Allison Marsh (Jeremy) of Ocean Springs, MS; and his siblings, Robert Persing (Maureen) of Raleigh, NC, Peggy Shahan of Shamokin, Susan Thomson of Middletown and Keith Persing (Dawn) of Monroeville. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
