He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Heinlen and Florence Heinlen (Fisher); and his former wife Suzanne Heinlen (Rhode). He is survived by: his wife Valerie Heinlen (Houser); his children, Ruth E. Somers (Bill) of Schuylkill Haven, Stacy Gardner (David) of Williamsport, Lori L. Griffin (Jan) of Williamsport and Alicia M. Faulkner-Nixon of Williamsport; his grandchildren, Christine, Michael, Tiffany, Tyler, Andrea, Ryan, Jaden, Breanna and Tatum; and his great grandchildren, Ella and Alex.
