She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Niklaus and Charlotte Niklaus (Rolley); her husband Dale L. Smith; and her siblings, Dr. Ronald "Skip", Wilfred "Bill" Niklaus, Joanne Smith and Carol Van Zile.
She is survived by: her daughters, Debra "Debi" Burch (Seth) of Williamsport and Susan "Susie" Frischman (Craig) of Pittsburgh; and her grandchildren, Clarke Frischman of Denver, CO, Reed Frischman (Madeline "Maddie") of Pittsburgh and Cole Frischman of Pittsburgh. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
