He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Shaffer and Helen Shaffer (Weaver); his daughter Michelle Shaffer; and his sister Margaret "Peggy" Shaffer. He is survived by: his wife Gail L. Danley; his children, Larry Shaffer, Jr. (Lori) of Williamsport, Joseph Shaffer (Marion) of Williamsport, Charles Danley of Williamsport, Melinda Leitzel (Leonard) of Shamokin and Zofia Reaney (Paul); and his siblings, Joseph Shaffer (Nancy) of Williamsport, Kenny Shaffer (Becky), Mary Ann Krauser (Gregg) of Trout Run and Cathy Lunkwintz of Williamsport. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.
