He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Berninger and Esther Berninger (Hagenberger); and his siblings, Richard "Dick" Berninger and Betty Hakes (Berninger). He is survived by: his children, Michael, Michelle Berninger and Brother Robert Berninger of New York. He is also survived by grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
