He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard L. Hughes and Lucinda Hughes (Zimmerman); his wife Mary Jane Fonner; his son Ralph D. Hughes; his great grandchild Ronald L. Hughes; and his siblings, Minnie Grannas, Lola Hughes, Bessie Treese, William, John, Melvin and Raymond.
He is survived by: his children, Howard L. Hughes of Williamsburg, Luke S. Hughes (Beverly) of Duncansville and Mary Ann Over (Ronald) of Williamsburg. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
