He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary A. Diable-Machtley (Evanick) and Kenneth C. Machtley; his daughter Kristina Anne Diable; and his sister Karen E. Wiest. He is survived by: his wife Romayne M. Diable; his children, Timothy D. Diable (Heather) of Indian Head, MD, Christopher A. Richards of Dubois, Dawn L. Agan of Ankeny and Stephanie R. McChessney (Ryan) of Williamsburg; his grandchildren, Avery, Evan, Ian, Kassidy, Lindsey, Daulton, Lucas and Kellan; and his siblings, Melissa A. Richardson (Gerald) of Bedford, Susan J. Carl (Tom) of Herndon and Ronald K. Machtley (Katie).
