He was predeceased by: his parents, Neff Earl and Edith Belle Gunnett (Vanderpool); his son William Marshall Gunnett; his son-in-law Dennis E. Gorsuch; and his siblings, Erma Banks, Hazel Smith, Doris Ann Gunnett, Rita Gunnett, Shirley Deter, Lois Dempsie, Harold, Marion, Arch, Hubert and Willard Gunnett.
He is survived by: his children, Edwin N. Gunnett Jr. (Nancy) and Rita E. Gorsuch of Williamsburg; and his daughter-in-law Pamela Gunnett of Oxford, AL. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
