He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald R. Leonard and Gloria B. Leonard (Waite); and his siblings, James N. Sr., Robert Leonard and Mary Louise Leonard.
He is survived by: his wife Martha A. McGregor; his daughter Ruby D. Bookhammer (Warren Blades); his stepchildren, Timothy McGregor (Michelle) of Williamsburg, Terry Bookhammer (Shawna) of Williamsburg, Von Victor Bookhammer of Williamsburg and Julie Tolbert of Jacksonville, FL; his siblings, Richard R. Sr. Leonard (Della) of Williamsburg, Thomas D. Sr. Leonard (Noelle) of Linden, VA, Nancy Beatty (Ronald) of Williamsburg, Linda K. Carper (Troy) of Williamsburg and Lou Ann Benitez of Altoona; and his close friend Steve Culp. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
