He was predeceased by: his parents, Palmer E. Sr. Sweeney and Marie Cecelia Sweeney (Deyarmin); and his siblings, William D. "Bill" Sweeney, Palmer E. Sweeney Jr., Barbara M. Bowers and Patricia A. Verbonitz.

He is survived by: his son Scott A. Sweeney (Beth Knisely) of Williamsburg; and his grandson Jaret S. Sweeney of Hollidaysburg.

Viewing will be held on Monday, October 7th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the John K. Bolger Funeral Home, Inc. - Williamsburg (424 W 2nd St, Williamsburg, PA 16693). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 7th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
