He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Jay Hammel and Sarah Ruth Campbell (Sine); his brother Russell Wayne Hammel; and his half-brother Kenny Campbell. He is survived by: his wife Agnes Marie McGregor; his children, Dennis J. "Denny" Hammel Jr. (Leslie) of Entriken and Cortnee M. Hammel (Brandon Chamberlain) of Williamsburg; his grandchildren, Dennis J. Hammel III, Emily E. Hammel, Kevin B. Hammel, Carter A. Chamberlain and Caden J. Chamberlain; and his siblings, Becky Aardweg, Linda Smith, Ruth Hooper (Bruce), Sandy Klingler (Mike) and Ron Campbell (Karen). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their children.
