She was predeceased by: her parents, Noah Ashton and Dolly Ashton (Penny); her husband Joseph J. Kofchak; and her sons, William James and Dale "Buddy" James.

She is survived by: her children, Robert James of Shavertown and Bunny James; her stepchildren, Stephen, Joseph Kofchak and Cheryl Remakis of Wilkes-Barre; and her brother Robert Ashton. She is also survived by Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
