He was predeceased by: his wife Joanne Murphy; his daughter-in-law Darlene M. Hvozdovic (Kalinowski); his brothers, Andrew J. "Butch" Hvozdovic and Bernard P. Hvozdovic Sr.; and his sister-in-law Charlotte Hvozdovic.
He is survived by: his children, Joleen Matchko (Joe), Wilkes-Barre, Joseph A. Hvozdovic Jr. of Mountain Top and Jerome Hvozdovic; his grandchildren, Nicole, Matthew and Jonathan Hvozdovic; and his sister-in-law Margaret Louise Hvozdovic.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc. (625 N Main St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 8:45 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church (13 Hudson Rd, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705). The military honors was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery (1594 S Main St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18706).
