He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth Balla (Sabol); and his siblings, Mary Stash, Helen Marinko, Margaret Pangrac, Olga Chladon, Vilma Horensky and Daniel Balla.
He is survived by: his children, Wayne Balla and Deborah Sompel (Andy) of West Pittston; his grandchildren, Andy Sompel IV (Kristie), Nathan Sompel (Christy) and Kiera Sompel; his great grandchildren, Noah, Cullen Sompel, Precious and Mavis Rayne Sompel; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Carleigh, Sean Galliford, Morgan, William, Jonathan, Wyatt, Grace and Nichole.
Due to the current health crisis; facial masks are required while funeral home staff will assist with social distancing mandates.
