He was predeceased by: his parents, Hiram Messner and Bertha Rusbatch Messner; and his wife Susan M. Cooper Messner. He is survived by: his children, Douglas R. Messner (Devon), Annette M. Audinot (Vince) and Christine A. Keefer (Brian); his stepchildren, Jason Cooper (Jennifer), Hope Lakin (Gene) and Holly Williard (Dane); his grandchildren, Megan, Justin, Ashlee and Kurt; his great grandchildren, Lilly, Quinn, Theo, Auggie, Jack and Holden; his stepgrandchildren, Eli and Madeleine; his brother Donald Messner (Joan); and his niece Patty. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
