He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jr. Groller and Hattie Groller (Hacker); and his brother William. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Groller (Schweitzer); his children, Thomas (Judy), Anita (Michael Patterson) and Joseph (Ellen); his grandchildren, Christi (Zack Farr), Broc Groller and Alex Groller; and his sister Dolores (Edward Krupa).

“Such a sweet man! I met Walt in the mid 1970s at the Bavarian Festival in Lakewood, PA. I waitressed at Beerhall #2, then we'd move to Beerhall #1 where we'd enjoy his band and the Austrian or German bands he brought there. One night I danced with Walt, and as he twirled me around, my feet didn't even hit the floor! What a memory! I'd enjoy seeing him on Pennsylvania Polka. I loved telling my friends I danced with him! Rest in Paradise, Walt, and thank you for my memory! Memory Eternal!”

He has left a impressive legacy in the world of polka entertainment and I think that will be his remembrance.”
