He was predeceased by: his parents, Minnie Lahr (Werner) and Jacob Lahr Jr.; and his sister Priscilla Helmeier (Robert). He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Susan Simcoviak (Chris) and Cheryl McCabe (Pat); his nieces and nephews, Dean Helmeier (Elaine), Harry Helmeier (Peggy) and Bobby Lou Dillon (Paul); his stepgrandchildren, Abigail, Ryan Carter and Connor McCabe; and his cousin Suzanne Sullivan (John). He is also survived by many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc. (4201 Brownsville Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15227). A prayer was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 9:15 AM at the Our Lady of Hope Parish (5200 Greenridge Dr, Pittsburgh, PA 15236). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
