He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine Mary Helffrich (Best); his parents, Cyril C. Helffrich and Ruth E. Helffrich (Ramage); his brother Peter; and his daughter Elizabeth.
He is survived by: his son Michael Helffrich (Marisa) of Egypt; and his stepson George Lewis (Karen).
