He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Gross and Madeline Medved Gross. He is survived by: his former wife Jane Stegman Gross of White Oak; his children, David C. Gross (Jessica) of Elizabeth and Shawn M. Gross of White Oak; his grandchildren, Emma Gross and Jackson Gross; his sister Diane Brooks (Craig) of Elizabeth; and his pets, Toby and Tucker. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the funeral home to defray costs.
