With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia A. Shipley of White Oak, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 18, 2025 at the age of 96. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Socrates and Anna Socrates (Mondula); her husband Leonard T. Shipley; and her siblings, Chris Socrates, Louis Socrates, Lillian Schroeder and Herman Socrates.
She is survived by: her children, Greg Shipley, Joyce Rohrbacher and Christine Byers; her grandchildren, Jason, Julie (Matt), Michael (Lindy), Brandon Callie (Wendy), Derek and Eddie; and her great grandchildren, Jonathan, Olivia, Camrin, Gia, Travis, Jace, Mia, Brodie, Monroe and Maya. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home (2703 Oneil Blvd, McKeesport, PA 15132). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mother of God Parish (2701 Kelly St, White Oak, PA 15131).
