With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph G. Scapellato (White Oak, Pennsylvania), who passed away on February 25, 2025 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Scapellato and Anita Scapellato (Bonafortuna); his wife Geraldine Scapellato (Gniazdowski); and his siblings, Anna, Josephine, Lena and Samuel.
He is survived by: his daughters, Katherine "Kathy" Schindler (Brian) of Ross Twp and Christina "Chrissy" Newmyer (Scott) of McKeesport; his grandchildren, Cassidy, Brendan, Lucas and Kaylee; and his sister Dolores Woytko (late Steve). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. (1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131). A Mass will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the St. Eugene Church (3210 Liberty Way, McKeesport, PA 15133).
