It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Andrew Yost (White Oak, Pennsylvania), born in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 12, 2024, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward and Susan Ann Finnegan Yost; and his sister Jessica Christie Finnegan. He is survived by: his wife Lisa Ann Yost (Matta) of McKeesport, PA; his sons, John Yost (Samantha) of North Huntingdon, PA and Nathaniel Yost (Emily) of McKeesport, PA; his siblings, David Finnegan of Natrona Heights, PA, Anne E. Tupper (Jack) of Brookfield, OH, Deborah Durant (John) of Huntsville, AL and Rachel Christman (Daniel) of Sanford, FL; his granddaughters, Ada Yost and Alice Yost; and his brothers-in-law, William Matta (Patricia), Gregory Matta (Laura), Christopher Matta and Craig Matta (Julie). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

“I did not know John or his family personally but I attended Corpus Christi Church and often heard John read during Mass. He had a beautiful resonant voice that made the scriptures come alive, and both I and my husband especially enjoyed those services when John was the lector. “I worked with John for 13 years he was a fun loving guy with good sense of humor that was still selling production jobs between treatments even though he was in constant pain. Although he accomplished many things in his short life (acting, built a studio, produced a documentary etc etc) I can honestly say he was most proud of his family. I've met you all over the years and its easy to see why he was so proud...he will be missed by his Ryno family as well.”
