He was predeceased by: his parents, Agnes Shaffer (Adams) and S. A. Shaffer; and his siblings, Howard, Tom and Betty Ansinger.
He is survived by: his wife Irene M. Shaffer (Shuster) of Wheatland, PA; his son Bruce M. Shaffer (Karen) of Transfer, PA; his grandchildren, Jason Shaffer of Neshannock, PA, Cory Shaffer (Kimberly) of Greenville, SC and Samantha Rose (Brent) of Mechanicsville, VA; and his great grandchildren, Cameron Shaffer and Asher Rose. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
