We are sad to announce that on October 30, 2021, at the age of 72, Ronald Laporte of Wexford, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his wife Jan Dorman; his sister Susan Bennett; his sibling-in-law Jerry; his nephew Timothy; and his niece Jennifer Bennett.

Indeed, his pioneering contributions laid the foundation for not only T1D registries worldwide but also set a standard for epidemiologic international collaboration.
