He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Francis S. Mainzer and Dorothy Mainzer (Kirkwood); his wife Ellen Mainzer (Fennell); and his brothers, Dr. Francis K. Mainzer, Dr. Thomas Mainzer and Peter Mainzer.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Richardson (Glenn), John Audi (Janet) of Valrico, FL and Judie Spence of South Elgin, IL; his grandchildren, Alec and Erin Richardson; his children, Kate and Jack Spence; his stepdaughter Susan Sliman (George); his stepgranddaughters, Rachel Robbins and Sarah Shipley (Cody); his sisters-in-law, Margaret Foster, Joan Mainzer, Jane Mainzer and Pat Fennell; his pet Gatsby; and also Rylie.
