He was predeceased by: his parents, James V. Smithers and Mary Jane Smithers; and his siblings, Rebecca Ann O'Brien and James Smithers. He is survived by: his wife Diane Smithers; his children, Mary Jane Smithers of Tioga and Norman D. Smithers, Jr. of Coopers Plains; his grandchildren, Cobin, Krayzen Beard, Alex, Michael and Zachary Smithers; his brothers, Dennis and Alfred Smithers of Elkland; and his stepbrother Larry McFall. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
