She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Hiester and Ruth Hiester (Gaston); her daughter Erin R. Overley; and her brother Thomas Hiester. She is survived by: her husband Timothy L. Overley; her sons, Shawn P. (Kristen), Cumru Twp and Timothy S. (Jennifer); and her grandchildren, Dylan, Jaxon, Cameron and Rylan. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Melanie's honor.
