It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Ellen Gallagher (West Reading, Pennsylvania), who passed away at the age of 81, on May 16, 2023. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles W. Brownmiller and Hazel Brownmiller (Ludwig) of Hamburg; and her husband Charles Gallagher. She is survived by: her children, Drew (Margaret), Thomas Gallagher and Julie Stern (Dale); her grandchildren, Michael, Haley Arndt, Baylor and Ellen Gallagher; her siblings, Janet Barr and Charles W. Brownmiller, Jr. (Betty); her mother-in-law Stella Gallagher; and her brothers-in-law, James (Kelly) and Joseph Gallagher (Linda). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
When COVID struck, she launched a family Trivia session on Zoom every Sunday evening to keep in touch with extended family and hosted the event and wrote almost all of the 40 unique trivia questions each week.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Reading Symphony Orchestra, The John Updike Childhood Home, or The Kurt Vonnegut Museum.
