He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo S. Ertel and Sallie V. Ertel (Weaver); and his brothers, George J. Ertel and J. Leo "Sonny" Ertel. He is survived by: his wife Lucille M. Ertel (Krug); his daughters, Janet L. Gillis (Landon), Tampa and Cynthia A. Geiger (John); and his grandchildren, Laurie, Jonathan, Alex and Nicole. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
