He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Weitzel and Ruth Weitzel (Weyandt); his brother Paul Weitzel; and his sister-in-law Lois Weitzel. He is survived by: his wife Carol A. Weitzel (Williams); his siblings, Evelyn (Carlen Bordner) and Ronald (Shirley Weitzel); and his pets, Pepper and Ozzy. He is also survived by Several nieces and nephews.
