He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Burke and Mary Burke (Brezee). He is survived by: his wife Mary Burke (Cotter); his children, Michael, Brendan, Matthew and Maureen Rockaway (Christopher); his grandchildren, Kate and James Rockaway; and his brothers, Dennis Burke (Barbara) and Kevin Burke (Carol). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Viewing was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Graziano Funeral Home Inc. (700 S Township Blvd, Pittston, PA 18640). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Corpus Christi Parish (605 Luzerne Ave, West Pittston, PA 18643). A burial was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mt Olivet Cemetery (612 Mt Olivet Rd, Wyoming, PA 18644).
