She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry J. Krause and Mary Nealon Krause; her husband John A. Smith Jr.; her son Joseph; and her siblings, Robert T. Krause and Margaret "Peggy" Krause Rockefeller.

She is survived by: her children, John A. Smith III (Sherry), Jill Ann Space (Mark) and Jamey Smith (Sandy); her daughter-in-law Evelyn Sgarlat Smith; her grandchildren, Lindsey Valentine (Alex), Alexis Smith (Justin), Courtney Smith, Matthew Smith (Jennifer), Justin Smith (Kristen), Kyle Smith (Krista), Dillon Smith (Samantha) and Taylor Barefoot (Brady); and her great grandchildren, Rowen Smith, Regan Smith, Kathryn Valentine, Madison Smith, Nicholas Space, Liam Valentine, Daniel Space, Charley Rose Smith and Hudson Smith.
