With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thelma F. Slavic of West Newton, Pennsylvania, born in Rostraver, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 1, 2021 at the age of 97. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Thelma F. Slavic to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas G. Harris and Catherine Amy Harris (Fell); her husband Albert Slavic; her sons, Thomas G. Slavic Sr. and Albert E. Slavic; and her siblings, Mary Helen Volk, Hazel Harris of Virginia, Catherine Margaret Mehalek, Mehala Strenske, Harriet Holbrook, Thomas Harris and Joan Harris.
She is survived by: her children, Frances E. Sabo of West Newton, Cathy M. Hanna of Ravenna, OH, Virginia M. "Ginny" Stewart of Hardinsburg, KY and David G. Slavic of West Newton. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Everyone attending the visitation and services must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Basil The Great Russian Orthodox Church.
