He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William J. Popojas Sr. and Elizabeth "Betty" DeCello (Megliss); his wife Rita T. Popojas (Kirsch); his children, Jamie Popojas of Munhall, Christopher Popojas (Christina) of Pittsburgh, Bryan Popojas of West Mifflin and William J. Popojas III (Dana Baxter) of Stephens City, VA; his grandchildren, Connor Popojas and Caylee Popojas; and his siblings, Lisa Homoki (late Brian) of West Mifflin and John Popojas of Seven Fields. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
