He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel L. Kennedy and Sarah B. Flanigan; his wife Marjorie L. Kennedy (Bingham); his daughter-in-law Diane Kennedy; and his brother Robert D. Kennedy (Helen Kennedy).
He is survived by: his sons, William Kennedy (Pat Lauff) of Oakmont and James Kennedy (Cheryl Wiles) of Bellingham, MA; and his grandchildren, Taylor (Elizabeth Kennedy), Ross, Sean and Todd Kennedy.
