He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Sr. Matthews and Rita Matthews (Devey). He is survived by: his brothers, James and Albert Matthews (Karen); and his pet Mia. He is also survived by many nieces nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Animal Friends and the Humane Society of Pittsburgh.
