He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Hornyak and Anna Hornyak (Kovacs); his daughter Judith; and his siblings, Anna Popsack, Alberta Sabo, Albert and George Hornyak.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Hornyak (Jantek); his children, Michael Hornyak (Sandi) and Janie Hochlinski (John); and his grandchildren, Michael Eric, Matthew, Molli and Addi.
