She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Chuba and Helen Chuba (Prebula); her husband Joseph S. Karpieniak; and her brother Joseph. She is survived by: her sons, Joseph S. Karpieniak Jr. (Joan) and Ron Karpieniak (late Berni); her siblings, Margaret Pihonsky (Edward) and Edward Chuba (Lorraine); her grandchildren, Angela Miller (Joshua), Megan Shaffer (Jonathan) and Joseph Andrew Karpieniak; and her great grandchildren, Everly Shaffer, Margaret "Maggie" Miller and Baby Shaffer. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
