He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph J. Sr. Sawl and Margaret Sawl (Mahr); his wife Vilma Sawl (Sabo); and his brother Frank (late Anna Marie). He is survived by: his sons, James (Mary) and Gregg (Judy); his grandchildren, Dan (Jenna) and Anne; his great grandchildren, Henrik and Elizabeth; and his sister Janice Gavel (late James).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home (3511 Main St, Munhall, PA 15120). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Therese R. C. Church (1 St Therese Ct, Munhall, PA 15120).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Joe's name to the West Homestead Volunteer Fire Department, 445 West 8th Avenue, West Homestead, PA 15120.
