He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred W. Halt and Edna Halt (McLaughlin); his daughter-in-law Tammy Halt (Williams); and his siblings, Margaret Maker, Chuck Jones and Mary Lou Bickerton.
He is survived by: his wife Edith Marie Halt (Wall); his sons, James Halt, Jr. (Teresa) of Sutersville, Terry Halt (Jennifer) of Elizabeth Township and Gary Halt of West Elizabeth; his grandchildren, Brandon Halt (Kelsey), Jonathan Halt (Tyler), Julieann Halt (Louie) and Brittany Halt; and his great grandchildren, Gracie, Olivia and Charlee. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
