He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul A. Gerhart and Emma Gerhart (Gerberich); his former wife Mary Jane "Kitty" Gerhart (Dugan); his son Thomas Gerhart; and his sister Mabel Hollowell.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth A. Gerhart (Brandt); his daughter Rebecca Fogle (Jon); his grandchildren, Paul, Thomas and Andrew Fogle; and his siblings, Eleanor Hollowell, Carrie Carter and Herbert Gerhart (Marsha). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
