He is survived by: his wife Ann Marie Girard (Chaposky); his children, James J. Girard, Jr. (Christy), Janson J. Girard (Beth) and Gina (Rob Weidenhammer); his grandchildren, Julianna Girard, Colin Girard, Faith Powell and Ethan Powell; and his brother J. Donald Girard, Jr. (Paula). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berks County Police Hero's Fund or to the Wounded Warrior Fund.
