She was predeceased by: her parents, Costis Vaganos and Elpiniki Vaganos (Samarakis); her husband John R. McCarthy, Sr.; her son John R. McCarthy, Jr.; and her sisters, Kathryn Root and Georgia Leach.
She is survived by: her daughters, Caprice McCarthy-Evans of Mansfield, PA and Shalane Gee (Steve) of Wellsboro, PA; and her siblings, Ellen Wilcox (Don) of Wellsboro, PA, Rita Beck of Wellsboro, PA and Chris Vaganos of Wellsboro, PA. She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
