He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Taynton and Lillian Taynton (Olmsted); his wife Mary Ann Taynton; his daughter Shelly Taynton; and his sisters, Bonnie Farrell and Betty Whittendale.
He is survived by: his children, Kelly Welch (Jack) of Apollo Beach, FL, Doug Taynton (Maria) of Spring Hill, FL and Steve Carlton (Pam) of China Grove, NC; and his siblings, Tom Taynton and Linda Hinkle of Wellsboro. He is also survived by four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
